I don't know how current this weblog is but it seems like as good a place as any to get feedback on a current research project on the effects of metacognitive learning strategies to enhance reading comprehension in an online reading comprehension program. The idea is to improve current reading comprehension programs. Some of the thinking comes from observing how kids approach the problem solving aspects of video games. Their confidence, engagement and motivation appears to be tied to their accumilated gaming strategies. Metacognitively, an awareness of how they approach the various problems and challenges associated with the game. The model would be constructivist in form.

Anytime you accelerate metacognition you are going to have positive learning gains. You produce positive effects with having your students go higher up onto Bloom's Taxonomy. Is this online reading program in Flash or what type of program?
